Theres nothing like a good surprise party; especially when it's a double surprise party! Last week the Wampler Family celebrated the 40th Wedding Anniversary of Ike and Dianne Wampler. They were also celebrating their niece, Heather's, 40th Birthday. Not only does this family know how to keep a secret but they also know how to celebrate in true tropical style! I never heard an official theme title but I have decided to give it a specific category. Between the fun tropical decor and the unique Elvis touches here and there I have determined it to have been a Blue Hawaii theme. It was a blast!
Ike and Dianne are one of the sweetest couples you could ever meet. They love to take care of others and build close relationships with those around them. Dianne believed that she and Ike were coming to the barn to celebrate there niece, Heather's, 40th birthday with the family. Little did she know that Ike planned to celebrate the start of the 40th year in their marriage. Dianne was definitely surprised and moved by all the hard work her husband, family, and friends put into making this evening special. By the way, Ike managed to get Dianne's wedding gown, his military uniform, and their wedding album out of the house without her knowing; way to go Ike! Later in the evening he surprised her with a ruby ring (the symbol of 40 years of marriage). How romantic is that?!
Heather, on the other hand, believed that her family was meeting at the barn to celebrate her Aunt Dianne and Uncle Ike's 40th wedding anniversary; a secret to her aunt. Imagine her reaction when she shows up to her family and friend yelling "Surprise" to her! She was so touched! I met Heather for the first time that evening and I am so glad I did. She is such a joyful woman full of love and laugher and it was obvious through out the evening. She and her husband, Rivers, seem like a such a fun couple to be around!
