I don't even know where to begin talking about Jon and Chelle! It truly starts at least 20 years ago when Chelle and I were just little girls in Sunday school class. Thats where our friendship began. Over the years I have had many MANY fun times with Chelle. Driving around town, taking pictures in the woods wearing our old prom dresses, and countless sleepovers. Personally, I had set high standards for the man she would someday marry and Jon surpasses them all. He is such a great guy and I have liked him since day one! I am so excited that they have made it official! They are definitely each others other half and its a beautiful thing to see!
Jon and Chelle met through a mutual friend during their time at Wright State University. Chelle was studying dance and Jon was studying computer engineering! If not for their mutual friend they may have never met. How often does a dancer's path cross with an engineer's? Over the last 5 years of their relationship it became more and more obvious that they would someday get married. Jon had a plan to propose to Chelle in a beautiful flower garden; how romantic! However in the end when the moment came he felt like the time wasn't truly right. It wasn't until a little while later when they were preparing to go to a party for Jon's family that he just couldn't wait another minute and in the middle of the living room asked Chelle to be his wife. Of course she instantly said "YES"!
It was important to them both that we took engagement pictures at two specific locations in Dayton. We began at the Carillon Historical Park where they will get married next July. It was fun to walk around the grounds and see why they fell in love with that location for their wedding. It is absolutely gorgeous! Plus it will be fun to recreate a photo or two from their session on their wedding day! The final place was the Wegerzyn Gardens, Jon's originally intended proposal location. We were there on a perfect day. Any area we went to we had all to ourselves. I even gave them my phone and they danced to one of their favorite songs (Sparks by Coldplay) for a little down time. I love seeing my friend crazy happy and it meant so much to me that Jon and Chelle asked me to be so involved in their wedding.
Congratulations Jon & Chelle! I can't wait to celebrate with you on your special day!
