I love meeting new clients and building relationships with them as we work together. However, it is always extra special for me when I get to work with people I already have relationships with. The Norman family and I go way back! I grew up in church with this family. The parents and grandparents knew me when I was a little girl and then I knew their children when they were little. I have to admit when I first arrived I was thrown off a little by how big the boys actually were! In my mind I was still visualizing them a certain way. I couldn't believe how grown they really were!
When Cathy (the grandmother) contacted me about a family session I was immediately filled with excitement. Not only would the photos be with Cathy and her husband, Dave, but also with the whole family. The family includes their son Chris and his wife, Tracy, along with their two boys, Isaiah and Solomon. It also includes their son-in-law Andy Arnett with his boys Alec and Austin. Andy is the husband of Dave and Cathy's late daughter Angie; one of the sweetest and kindest women I ever met. Angie passed away in January of 2014 after a battle with cancer (Melanoma). The family has been through so much in the last few years but they have always kept their eyes on God and rested in his love and comfort.
This family is so close and full of love. Any opportunity they have to get together they take it. They are always smiling and laughing about something. The sweetest thing about this family, in my opinion, is that when we changed locations during our time, the boys either held their mom's hand or their grandmother's hand. So precious! The idea of photographing this family was so special to me and I was really touched they thought of me to do this for them.
